Building on a successful 2023 program, Broadstairs Cricket Club has announced details of its training program for the upcoming summer for under 11’s, under 13’s and under 15’s as well as Saturday morning softball sessions.
Starting from 22nd April, all training sessions will be held at the club’s ground on Park Avenue, with u15 training held on Monday evenings and the U11’s and U13’s training on Tuesday evenings. All training sessions will last from 6pm until 7.30pm and cost £4 per person per session.
Throughout the summer, each team will participate in the Canterbury Pharon Youth League. U11 matches will be played on Sunday mornings, u13 matches on Friday evenings and U15 matches on Wednesday evenings.
The club has an established and well developed Junior Programme. Chris Kidd is leading the Junior Programme in 2024, bringing a combination of both his excellent senior playing record for Broadstairs and strong coaching reputation to the Junior set up. Chris is ably supported by a team of enthusiastic, qualified coaches who help to create a fun environment in which the juniors can develop both their skills and their enjoyment of the game. The club is rightly proud of its track record of progressing juniors into the senior teams, and this season many of the first team, who play in the Championship, and the second team, who play in Division 7 of the Kent Cricket League, started their cricket in the Broadstairs Junior Program.
Throughout the season we will be creating opportunities for parents and juniors to get more involved in the club through use of a club app (more news to follow shortly), and other regular events in addition to junior training and matches. A first date for your diary is 18th May, when the club will be holding a junior event alongside the first team playing Beckenham at home in the league.
