The 1st XI made it two wins out of two with a victory away to Whitstable in a 30-over match. The contest went right down to the wire in more ways than one, with the visitors scoring the winning runs with just 5 balls to spare and minutes before the downpour that had been forecast for much of the day.
Whitstable's 1st innings score of 187-8 was looking safe after Broadstairs had stuttered to 21-3 in the 10th over. However, a match-changing 4th wicket partnership between Alex Hogben (50) and Jamie Dewell (96) put Broadstairs back in the driving seat and all but sealed the win for the visitors who finished on 191-6. Dewell had also been the pick of the bowlers (3-33) with additional wickets for Elliot Fox (2), Chris Kidd (1) and George Kidd (1)
