Message from Thanet Indoor Cricket League.
To All Thanet Cricket Clubs and players.
Firstly apologies if you receive this more than once, as I have asked Roger, Eric and Bill to forward to as many contacts as possible.
Obviously as you are all aware the Corona Virus has forced us all to make drastic changes to our lives and the Government advise given last night, is the line we have decided to take as well.
The FA, Rugby Union and Rugby League have all decided to cancel all activity down to grass roots level.
At this stage the ECB have not followed suit, but at this particular moment very little cricket is being played.
In consultation with my KCB Thanet and TICL Committee colleagues we have taken the decision to suspend the League with immediate effect, therefore there will be no more matches this season. We will be meeting to discuss how we conclude this season and will keep you informed. It follows of course that there will not be an annual Presentation night next month.
At this stage of course we do not know what the outdoor season will bring, with the start being just 6 or 7 weeks away, again, will keep you posted.
Apologies for being the purveyor of bad news, but I am sure you agree we had no option.
I do hope you are all able to have an enjoyable outdoor season of some sort, and wish you all good health.
Kind regards.
George Cocks.
Chairman KCB Thanet Ltd. And Thanet Indoor Cricket League.
